There are two people who would like to remain somewhat anonymous, but without their help and support, we would not have been able to accomplish what we have. We like to express our heartfelt thanks to Randy and Diane for all the work they do and time they donate behind the scenes that allows us to fulfill our goals in the Solomon Islands.

In addition, Grant and Jill Kelly at Uepi Island Resort have been our in-country planning, support, logistics, communication, and hospitality providers. Without them, we would not be able to function in the Marovo Lagoon. Thank you for helping pave the way for us. We are so grateful for the services you provide and the friendship that has followed.

Our local star in the Solomon Islands is Jason Kelly, owner of Marovo Sustainable Timber. Jason has taken the reigns for us and volunteered as the interim Seghe Hospital administrator. Since his involvement, our progress at the Seghe Hospital has surpassed our wildest dreams. We thank him for his incredible leadership abilities and personal commitment to making the Seghe Hospital a better facility. With Jason leading the way on the ground, we realize that we can do incredible things for the hospital and the community. Thank you for your initiative and determination!

We consider everyone who has gone with us on our medical mission trips to be our partners. Without willing and committed participants we would not be able to treat close to 4,000 patients since November of 2008. Thank you for stepping into the unknown and signing up to go on the trip of a lifetime with us. We know the Marovo takes a piece of your heart once you’ve been and changes you forever. We know the power this area and community have on people when one of our participants will have been on all four trips, while another will have been three times and another eight people will have been with us on two trips. Without your concern for the people of the Marovo, the future of their health care options would be bleak.

We’d like to thank the United Church of the Solomon Islands and the Medical Board of the Seghe Hospital for welcoming us into their community. They have been so supportive of our efforts to expand the services offered at the Seghe Hospital. Bishop Wilfred Kurepitu has been a joy to work with and we thank him for entertaining our initial solar proposal without really knowing who we were. His commitment to the Seghe community is strong and we look forward to working with him as long as the church allows him to serve in this capacity.

Finally, we’d like to thank the Ministry of Health (MOH) of the Solomon Islands for allowing us to provide medical care to the people of the Marovo Lagoon. We look forward to cultivating new relationships with the MOH as we both want to see health care services expanded for the people of the Marovo Lagoon.
